The New England Patriots won their sixth Super Bowl title on February 3rd, 2019. On Friday, February 22, 2019, Robert Kraft was charged with 2 misdemeanor counts of soliciting prostitution in Jupiter, Florida according to Jupiter Police. Just 19 days after Kraft added another Super Bowl ring to his collection, this scandal has dropped.
According to Jupiter Police, Robert Kraft visited the Orchids of Asia Day Spa in Jupiter on two separate occasions. Videos have not yet surfaced, but it is rumored that there is surveillance footage of Kraft receiving an illegal act in exchange for $59, each time he visited. Jupiter Police have also hinted that Kraft is not the biggest name being charged in this scandal. Robert Kraft was only a visitor to the massage parlor, where many charged were involved in human trafficking and the organization of a prostitution ring.
A spokesperson for Robert Kraft released a statement denying any wrongdoing and denying the charges levied by the Jupiter Police Department. The spokesperson stated, “We categorically deny that Mr. Kraft engaged in any illegal activity. Because it is a judicial matter, we will not be commenting further.” It has been stated that Kraft will fight any charges. Kraft has not responded to any questions while in public since Friday.
Robert Kraft was spotted Saturday at a pre-Oscars party hosted by a television executive. He was dancing and being himself when seen, but would not comment on the scandal at hand.
Kraft has been known as a very charitable and philanthropic character both on and off the football field. Donating money does not mean that alleged actions that he has been accused of makes it right. The integrity of Kraft is being questioned, but he still has a strong backing from Patriot nation.
Breaking news on Friday morning shook the league and Patriots nation. More information regarding Kraft, the league, the scandal and more needs to be gathered for the full story. For now, there is a lot left to interpretation which is both for and against Kraft’s case. Until then, we wait for further details.
