On March 8th, 2019, LSU basketball head coach Will Wade was suspended indefinitely. The suspension came after and FBI investigation into coach Wade and recruiting middle man Christian Dawkins.
The FBI wired tapped conversations between Wade and Dawkins discussing a specific player recruitment. In these discussions, Wade had stated that he made a “hell of an offer” to a recruit. The recruit is currently on the team and is freshman Javonte Smart.
The president of LSU F.King Alexander and Athletic Director Joe Alleva released a joint statement that suspended Wade indefinitely. The two condemned all illegal action by Wade and stated that he did not ally himself with LSU and NCAA rules and morals.
Coach Tony Benford has served in Wade’s absence and has now brought LSU to the sweet sixteen next weekend.

On the first day of the men’s Division I NCAA March Madness tournament, Wofford guard Fletcher Magee drained his 505th career 3-point shot.  This shot broke the standing NCAA Division I record, previously held by Oakland’s Trevor Bader at 504.
Magee went on to make four more 3-point shots, for a total of seven, in Wofford’s win over number 10 Seton Hall.  Not only did Magee break a NCAA record, but Wofford advanced in the NCAA tournament for the first time ever.  This marked Wofford’s 21st straight win.  This winning streak was soon ended by number 2 Kentucky in a close 56-62 game.  Wofford should be proud of this accomplishment.

Big Man on Campus – UCF Center

Tacko Fall.  The 7 foot 6 inch center for the University of Central Florida from Senegal. Tacko recently went viral from this picture with Tracy Wolfson.  The following images are to put his height in perspective.

In the first image, Tacko Fall is standing next to reporter Tracy Wolfson.  Tacko is 7’6″ and Tracy is 5’2″.  The two and a half foot difference really shows in the picture.

In the second image, Tacko guards against an SMU player.  This image shows his ability to tower over offensive players and swat back shots when in the paints.

In the third image, Tacko only has to get onto his toes to get the ball over the rim for a dunk.

Tacko is an impressive basketball player, partially due to his natural ability.  To show how is height helps him dominate on the court, Tacko won every single tip-off that he participated in this year.  35 straight tip-offs were won.  Tacko helped lead UCF to a first round win over VCU, but fell short versus Duke earlier tonight, fouling out with 15 seconds left in the game.  Tacko had 15 points.
