March Madness Final Four is Set

The 2019 Final Four match ups are set.

Lots of brackets are busted.

Just like every other year.

Let’s see how it played out.

East Region Winner:

Michigan State.  Michigan State beat Duke 68-67 in a thriller .  Head coach Tom Izzo has now brought the school to his 8th final four appearance.  Guard Cassius Winston hopes to lead the team to a national championship.  Duke was the highest picked team to win the national championship.  Duke’s Zion Williamson had an impressive game with 24 points, but was not enough for the team to advance to what was seen as a likely tournament winner.

West Region Winner:

Texas Tech.  Texas Tech advances to their first ever final four appearance.  After beating number 1 seed Gonzaga, the Red Raiders hope to continue their incredible story and dance their way to a title.  The Gonzaga Bulldogs were the 3rd most picked team to win the title.  Texas Tech has put up impressive wins throughout the tournament.  The Red Raiders have put up a 17, 20, and 19 point wins.  This last 6 point win over Gonzaga may have been their lowest winning margin, but against their best opponent.  Texas Tech dances into the final four as one of the hottest teams left.

South Region Winner:

Virginia.  Virginia advances to the final four third time in program history.  Although the Cavaliers have never made it out of the round of four, Coach Tony Bennett hopes to bring the first title home to Virginia.  Virginia beat Purdue in a stunning OT victory after an incredible game-tying buzzer beater.  Virginia continues their pursuit to avenge last year’s dreadful tournament play.  After being the first ever number 1 seed to be beat in the March Madness tournament last year by UMBC,  Virginia has bad blood in the tournament.  Virginia is the last number 1 seed standing and hopes to bring their regular season numbers to winning the championship.

Midwest Region Winner:

Auburn.  Probably the most unlikely final four contender, Auburn has gotten hot at the right time.  Auburn has beaten Kansas, UNC, and Kentucky in this tournament, some of the best tournament teams ever.  Auburn becomes the second team to ever beat all of these teams in one tournament run.  With these teams being the 4, 1, and 2 seeds respectively, Auburn has an impressive resume entering the final four.  Auburn, like Texas Tech, has clocked their first ever final four appearance.  Auburn looks to bring their school a title, being the lowest seeded team left.

Final Four Matchups:
